In the world of SEO there was some buzz -and confusion–about the acronym “Organic SEO”. As a way to truly understand what organic SEO is, it can help to know what it isn’t. Back when SEO was different, there were two distinct schools of SEO practices, labeled the “White-hats” as well as the “Black- hats”. Organic SEO firms are classified as the equal of the white hats. So exactly what distinguishes a principled firm from a black hat? There are various differences, but the biggest of all of them is content.

In organic SEO, it is obvious that fresh, relevant content is king. Search engines like google rely on content as a way to function, along with a truly organic SEO firm knows that fat loss around this. Black hats, however, never specialize in developing content but place confidence in technological loopholes that, more or less, get the search engines believe there is always content there when there isn’t.

The main problem with this strategy is that while it may temporarily raise the ranks on search engines, the manner does not something that you should increase the quality and relevance of that site. One reason why major search engines change their algorithms regularly will be to weed out sites that are “artificially” ranked high (on account of methods utilized by black-hats). Therefore, the Black hat SEO strategy only works until the next algorithm shift when it will have to change its tricks again. Organic SEOs, on the other hand, build ranks naturally and legitimately, through strong content that visitors realize are useful.

Another must in SEO is increasing the amount of inbound links to your site. As with content building, black hats place confidence in artificial approaches for garnering links, similar to purchasing text links, reciprocal linking schemes, and link farms. Organic SEOs avoid these schemes, and instead expect to increase inbound links naturally.

The larger issue with artificially building rankings through black-hat techniques is that high rankings alone won’t mean more sales. While it is certainly true that their ways of algorithm-busting can raise rankings to the top, in any case, if that site’s content hasn’t been developed into relevant content useful to the visitor, that visitor will quickly leave the site, to not ever appear again. Organic Seo methods, however, not only go on to create a site google and yahoo friendly, but user-friendly also. Sites with relevant and strong content usually tend to produce visitors and increase sales. Which, ultimately, is the true objective of SEO.
