Tips On Planning A Corporate Award Ceremony

By Small Business Ideas On December 3, 2010 Under Small Business

Award ceremonies are organized within a company or organization to honor and recognize the achievements of outstanding employees. A formal occasion with black-tie attire or casual and fun event are the company’s choice. They will be giving out several corporate awards in different categories and in most organizations committees are assigned to plan, conceptualize and arrange the event. People who will be part of these committees may want to take note of the following things.

List of Guests A guest list will help you determine your budget and the volume of work you will be required to cover. It can be quite challenging to organize an event for a large company. You can work with a larger guest list if the company can provide considerable budget. If otherwise, then you can only include the awardees, supervisors, top management and limit the number of guests.

Venue Choose an event venue that can fit the number of guests. Hotels can usually accommodate an average size of crowd. Formal occasions are more appropriate in hotels. Other venues can also appeal to your needs and you can even choose outdoor venues if you are aiming at more casual and fun award events.

Food Service Pick a food service company that can cater premium quality food and cocktails. Finger food catering or buffet style can be nice for casual events while the formal awarding can have formal dinner setup.

Motif or Theme Awarding ceremonies can be nice with a cool theme or motif. Guests may feel excited to partake in an event that will require costumes or dress codes. Excitement can be created with a seasonal event like Christmas or Halloween or a lavish masquerade or ball. Decorations must be included to provide an ideal setting.

Program Organizers must create a nice program with strategic sequence including speeches, entertainment and awarding proper. Award categories can be presented one by one throughout the program. Create anticipation by presenting minor awards first and the much-awaited ones later. To add some humor or lively mood to the event, choose an experienced and smart host.

Keep the corporate awards ready in a secure place after you have purchased them from a supplier. Do an inventory to make sure award items are complete.
