Use Your Keywords

It’s a no brainer; always include your keywords on your Google AdWords ads. An average person glance through their Google search results very quickly, so you must place in your keywords strategically to grab their attention. Otherwise, your ad will be missed and lose a chance for sale. Of course, you ad must also be appealing, compelling and make total sense. This may be difficult because there is a limited space for the ad, but an excellent advertiser can create great ads even with such little word space. It’s a waste of time, effort and opportunity, if you don’t include the keywords in your ads.

Bidding From High To Low

Here’s a useful strategy for bidding, but first let me explain how Google ranks your ads. Google ranks your ad by two things, your bid price and your Click-Through-Rate (CTR). The CTR is the number of clicks your ad gets when it was shown. As a newbie, your ads initially get a low quality score, putting you on a disadvantage compare to older and more experience advertisers. Thus, in order for you ads to show, you need to bid a litter higher than usual. By bidding higher, you get more exposure and higher CTR. Once you get an established amount of CTR, then you can lower your bid price. Ultimately, the goal is then to keep your ad on the first page with the lowest bid price possible.

Bidding from Low To High

This is another bidding strategy, complete opposite of the previous bidding strategy. This is best used for keywords that are less competitive and for people who have budget that are limited. You start off by placing a low bid price and then slowly increasing that price until you reach the first page. Of course, you must still try to get the lowest price possible, while still keeping your ad on the first page.

Try Negative Keywords

The use of negative keywords prevents your ads from appearing in search results that are totally unrelated. As an online advertiser, you have a specific target audience and you want your ads to appear in front of them. Your ad can display to the wrong people if you don’t use negative keywords list. For example, you might be selling a dog collar and “collar” is your keyword. However, when someone type in the word “collar”, he may be looking for different information or different types of collar. He may own a cat and looking for a cat collar. This is where you used the negative keywords, add “cat” into the list and your ad would not appear. You must use the negative keywords to target your ads. This helps you target the necessary audience only, and helps increase your CTR more.

Ad Testing

Testing ads is always important, you can do this easily with Google AdWords. In fact, you don’t have to do anything with Google AdWords at all when it comes to testing. Simply put 2 different ads into an AdGroup and Google will display them alternately. After a specific time frame, you will get results on which ad gets a higher CTR. With the result, you can choose which ad to remove and which ad to use. If you have numerous ads, you can repeat this process until you find the perfect ad for your campaign.

Google is one of the best places to place your ad because it is the biggest search engine on the face of the planet. The key is to know what works and what’s not in Google. Use the strategies here and you’re ready to go.
