4 Reasons Custom USB Drives Are Effective Marketing Tools

By Small Business Ideas On March 26, 2012 No Comments

Even though you have hundreds of options for promotional or corporate gifts, there are many reasons to stick with custom USB drives. These drives are affordable, yet they suit your branding needs and serve a functional purpose so you know most people won’t toss them in the trash. There are four main reasons to consider USB drives for your next marketing campaign:

USB Drives are a Universal Need

There will come a time when virtually everyone will need the convenience of a USB drive. For instance, most college students are now required to keep USB drives on hand so they can work on papers and other schoolwork whether they happen to be at home or on campus. You will even find business professionals moving their work between the office and home with the use of these drives. Even parents staying home with their children or grandparents in retirement are now commonly found with these drives in their homes.

You won’t have to worry about giving out products that will go unvalued or trashed, since most people around the world now use these drives. This means your money is never wasted, even though not everyone will become your customer.

Creative Designs Unique to Your Brand

When you order custom USB drives, you are in charge of the design. You are the one to decide the shape of your drive, as well as the color and size. In the end, you are delivered a branding tool that fits your business, and your business alone. It is common to find marketing and promotional products that accommodate your colors and logos, but few will allow you to choose a unique shape and design.

With custom USB drives, you never have to worry that a competitor is giving out the same promotional product. Your USB drives will be very different from those handed out by other businesses, so it won’t even matter that you are handing out the same basic promotional product. What better way do you have to stand out from the crowd?

Usefulness

Think of the limited functionality of the custom gifts you have given out in the past. There is some use for notebooks or paper pads, but how often are they tossed into a random drawer or lost in the backseat of a vehicle? Ink pens are a dime a dozen, and most people never read the branding information printed on them. Stuffed animals and other small toys may be handed off to happy children, but they are not very effective when it comes to converting clients.

When you have USB drives customized for your business, you are giving out something with a valuable use. Your drives will be kept on hand because they allow people to do their jobs, transport documents, and get through their daily lives. Your recipients get far more use out of drives, so you know they will do their job.

Effective Logo Placement

You don’t have to worry about your recipients not seeing your logo when they use your custom USB drives. Since the drive is shaped to suit your brand, your potential customers are reminded of you with a single glance. As recipients carry the drive to work and into other environments, the unique design will grab the attention of others as well. They will ask questions about the drive and your brand will gain word-of-mouth referrals in an indirect manner.

Since the focus is on the design and shape, you don’t have to come up with lengthy advertisements to put on your USB drives. If you want to get the visual value out of your drives, design them so they will represent your company without reading. Rather than reading to get the message, recipients will simply have to look at your drive to get that reminder of your brand.

In order to see how well custom USB drives can serve your company, you will have to come up with the right design and start handing them out. In most cases, these drives do far better at client conversion than most other promotional products.

4 Techniques To Promote Your Cause

By Small Business Ideas On February 2, 2012 No Comments

Let’s accept it, advertising is very pricey. And when you are trying to promote your non-profit cause you’ve got little to no funds to spend on advertising. Fortunately , there are some straightforward and free strategies to campaign your website without paying thru the nose. These simple tactics can assist in getting the word out about your cause and maybe even raise some cash for it at no charge to you.

1. Join an Internet Chat Group
There are any number of chat groups and bulleting boards online. Find one that interests you and is likely to attract the sort of people who fit into your target market, join it and take part. Be as helpful as possible to the other members of the group, and remember to put a link to your website in your signature line.

2. Place Your URL on All your Existing Stationary and Advertising
Your existing clients might not know that you have a website, and won’t use it unless you continually remind them. Place your URL on all invoices, invoices, envelopes, letterheads and business cards. By the same rule, if you are running an existing advertising campaign, ALWAYS include a reference to your URL.

3. Big it Up!
Mention your website in every conversation. Mention it on the telephone, mention it at social functions, mention it to the clerk at the food store. The more you rap about it, the more visitors you will get.

4. Make a Facebook Fan Page

Fan pages are very good because they’re free and you can connect a lot of your existing members and get the word out to their mates. This works well as you can localize it. There’s an even chance that a pal of a buddy on facebook might be interested in your cause, or as a minimum be local enough to care about it. Here’s an example of one I built for a local city: fundraising Diamond Bar. Try it out. It works really well.

Tim Woods works in non-profit and offers help and advice regularly. If you’re in the southern Califronia area this videos might interest you: fundraising Diamond Bar and this one: fundraising Brea. Take a look and good luck on your non-profit efforts!

Corporate Gifting

By Small Business Ideas On June 4, 2011 No Comments

Corporate gifting can be very difficult especially when one has many corporate clients. Finding out the right gift to give a particular client and keeping that in-line with his company policy is demanding sometimes. Though this should not discourage you, as there are many helpful tips online that will help you out.

Corporate Gifting- Corporate gifting can be done using several options. There are variety of gift items you can use. For instance one can take gift cards as a part of corporate gift. Gifts cards can also be part of gift items for clothes, bookstores and for restaurants. If you want to be more creative, you can use regional fruits, special cheeses, flowers and specially prepared cards. Using flowers for corporate gifting requires some carefulness. Many people tend to regard certain items with some meanings. As an example, in China, odd numbers are seen as bad luck. Flowers are designed to be used for different occasions. On the other hand, a gift basket filled with sweets and cakes might be suitable for certain companies. To make it more interesting, you can use coffee mugs with a box of sweets blended with coffee.

There are certain issues that must be considered before client gifting can be effectively carried out. Your company’s gifting rules and budget must be used during corporate gifting. You must keep all your gifting expenses with the gift budget of the company. To help you on this, you can seek for tips that will help you lower the cost. You can even order these gifts from places you know they are sold at cheap rates, especially when there are many clients to be given.

Corporate Gifting Business Ethics- You have to also understand that some company’s policy do not allow for the acceptance of certain gift items. Some accept anything sent to them while others may have a list of certain gifts they can accept. You have to be armed with these facts and possibly the list of acceptable items if you want to give something that will be accepted. Gift giving paves way for good business relationship between the giver and the receiver. It has a way of expressing the taste of the giver and the receiver alike.

Putting the company’s logo(the giving company or business), is the best way of corporate gifting. You will find that it works best with refrigerator magnets, fancy key chains and pen holders. For people who likes going green, eco-friendly products can also be used for corporate gifting. Among these are recycled pens, organic fruits, basket and organic apparel.

Corporate gifting is a good way of portraying a good and friendly company image. This is one of the best ways of attracting and retaining clients. Using corporate gifting is a good way of showing clients full satisfaction and appreciation. Select Between These Corporate Gifting Items

Giving Corporate Gifts

By Small Business Ideas On June 4, 2011 No Comments

Corporate gifts, either given to clients or to employees, are a good way of expressing appreciation. It can be used to attract and retain important clients by showing them that their patronization is valued in the company. To employees, it is used to show them that they are valuable to the company.

Corporate Gifts- Corporate gifts are used to achieve different purposes. It can be a way of triggering employees to reach their specified company target; in this case, employees that reach that target are selected and given separate gifts in appreciation. Companies can also take advantage of other gifting days like holidays, birthdays, etc, to show employees how important they are.

However, many companies never ‘map’ out time to satisfy their employees with gifts. The highest gift items for many companies are pen, pencil, eraser, ticket, etc.. Without bridging on the company gift policy and budget, we have to ensure that our gift items are worth it.

One of the most important gifting period for employees are the holiday periods. The gift they receive during this period tells them their value to the company. It is a way of expressing your inner feeling for what they have been doing in the firm. This is why you must use gift items that can be well classified under this category. During holidays, of course, many managers are facing different occasions and may hardly have enough time at hand to go through employee gifting budgets and processes. This is why managers require adequate guidance during these periods .

Best Corporate Gifts- Corporate Gifting, Doing It Right

Preparation is required before corporate gifting can be effectively made. You mustn’t wait for the last minute before you start doing something. You must be armed with a full list of the employees in your firm and what gift goes to who without going beyond the companies budget.

A lot of managers never have personal contacts with their employees and this makes making gift choices for them difficult. How can you be able to tell what they will like for a gift? This is difficult and the reason many managers do it wrong.

Being a good manager requires some sort of commitment. You have to take the time and occasionally observe your employees. Take a look at what they have on their table sometimes and ask them the meaning. Establishing a good rapport with your employees will also help keep them in their best. Occasional conversations with your employees won’t stripe off your whole time.  Doing this, you will always have corporative employees and perfect working atmosphere. Get Corporate Gifts Now

Promo Items For Your Business

By Small Business Ideas On June 4, 2011 No Comments

Promo items are being used in businesses for long and for different purposes. They play a very important role in the promotion of a business and attraction of new clients. This marketing strategy can be used in any business by just choosing the right items. How to decide the right item for a particular campaign is always the hard part in using promo items. What items will work for your business? What options do you have to choose? These are the questions you will be facing each time you want a promo for your business. Using promo items can either make you lose money or promote your business. Below are tips to help you select the right promo item.

Promo Items- Selecting Items That Blend With The Event At Hand

The promo item you use must work with the event you are participating in. For sponsorships, the item you chose has to compliment the event. For instance, if you are sponsoring a local football in your area, you should think of getting branded sport polo and then caps for spectators and fans.

As you will have understood, a business trade-fair requires something for the public and not a small group of football lovers. Some items like water bottles, sweat bands, bracelets, headbands, t-shirts, tank tops and more can be used in this place. The promo items must be one that satisfies at least a need in the lives’ of the participants of the event.

Select Promo Items- Consider The Usage Of The Promo Item

One brand of promo item will sure not be used every time. Giveaway items has to be simple, valuable and must not take too much space. You can use stickers for this purpose.  This is just to express your gratitude to your customers. Other items like travel mugs, key chains, etc, can also be used.

 Choosing With Regards To Visibility

The promo item to use must be visible enough. If you use items that can just be thrown somewhere once gotten and forgotten, it is not good for your business. The longer the item stay visible the more the holder remembers about your business and the good options it presents to his daily shopping needs. Therefore, some items like pen, can just be thrown somewhere and forgotten. Key chains stay in pockets and coffee mugs remain in the home or office.  T-shirts, hats, caps, etc, remain visible for long and performs the function of being a promo item. Buy Promo Items Now.

Generating Profits From Article Marketing

By Small Business Ideas On March 14, 2011 No Comments

When you’ve been at article marketing for a while, it can really amaze you to see just how many programs, courses and ebooks are being sold to teach how to generate traffic. Lots of people pay thousands of dollars for this material only to fail to see results, yet it may not be the programs that are the problem. This is mainly due to the programs not focusing on one technique and instead they try to teach too much all at once, thus confusing people. In order to drive traffic, you must develop the skill, and it’s best to start with no-cost methods before you go on to the ones that cost money. Article marketing is one of these free methods that will help you get the easy start you need. Next is what you can expect if you do article marketing correctly. Regardless of whether you would like to target a specific niche market like search engine placement or virtually any other niche, it’s critical that you remember the following tips.

When you write articles, they are being read by people who are interested in your topic, so you will get the best kind of visitors to your site. Getting any type of traffic is easy, but getting people who are your potential customers is the real key. Article marketing is good for getting this kind of traffic, as the only people who will read an article are those who have an interest in that topic. Both you and the public gain something with article marketing; you get visitors to your site, they have a destination to find out more about the topic.

A company that operates online should focus on building a rapport with their clients so as to build more income over time. And that’s just what you’re trying to do with article marketing. If you can create quality articles and give your core audience the info they want, when they want it, you’ll have a higher chance of them buying whatever you’re selling. What you want is that strong bond with your client base, and to separate yourself from other companies like yours. With all of that coming for free, it’s hard to imagine what you’d get if you actually paid money. Whether or not you intend to target a specific niche market such as article marketing sites or any other specialized niche, it’s critical that you remember the following tips.

Writing articles over time can also give you the benefit of making you into an authority in the niche you write about. This is an advantage that is difficult to get with other forms of online promotion. As you continue to write articles in your niche, people will start to look to you for help in this area. You will become better known and trusted as you produce more and more articles on the same topic. This is the way that you can eventually gain the reputation as an expert in your chosen niche. By being a source of helpful information, you build credibility and attract visitors to your site that are likely to convert. Having trust and credibility in your field is also very helpful for releasing your own products.

Article marketing can be a great source of profits and business success, all based on a simple, free marketing medium. Use your articles to sell products directly or use them to create a mailing list filled with future customers. Regardless of which option you choose, be sure you put in a consistent effort to see the results you’re hoping for. When the results start to flow, you could think about outsourcing your writing to another writer. Your ultimate aim should be to make this the most hands-free marketing method for your online business.

Explode Your Sales By Differentiating Your Product

By Randy Xyssion On February 25, 2011 No Comments

Regardless of whether it is intentional, if you are trying to sell a product, you have established a market position. You have chosen a price based upon the perceived benefits of your product, and are aggressively prospecting for customers. With this in mind, have you given any thought to the possibility of positioning your product for even greater success?

All businesses open their doors with an intention to sell, and have at least a minor idea of what their anticipated client is like. However, hardly any spend the time to determine how their individual merchandise or approach to advertising the product will differentiate them from competitors. This differentiation is their place inside the marketplace, and generally determines the company’s triumph.

A company generally positions itself to fully pull their merchandise and their market. Whether they are the “Low Price Leader,” or “Premium Brand.” The company’s position determines promotion strategy, sales price, and the company’s approach to promotion. Subsequently, determining a how your company should be positioned within the marketplace is one of the first steps to setting your company and product apart from the competition.

As you develop your business strategy, fully classify your normal customer. Define their all of the demographics that make up your potential customer base. Next list your competitors, and list exactly how they are positioned to service your client. Do they attain sales by deep discounts; do they insinuate prestige and quality? What differentiates your competition to your customers in your market?

Now take a look at your own organization and offerings. On which fronts can you compete most effectively? Can you compete in value? If not, can you offer more luxury or prestige? Do you offer more concrete benefits? How about greater safety, security, or benefits. How may you position your business where the competition can’t compete?

The position of your company and merchandise in the market is principal to your success. Choose your position wisely and gear both your price and marketing around this position. Make a conscious decision to position yourself and under no circumstances allow the market to make this decision for you. Only by properly positioning your company can you effectively differentiate yourself from the competition and maximize your sales.

How Local Businesses Can Profit From A Website Presence

By Small Business Ideas On March 29, 2010 No Comments

You don’t need to be a big multi-national enterprise to profit from having a website. A company website can be beneficial to any business, no matter how small. Even a business that doesn’t sell online can find that an internet presence can boost their business.

To demonstrate the point, we’ll make a hypothetical example of a small picket fence manufacturer. We’ll call the business ‘Stan’s Picket Fences.’ Stan has a small factory in a big city. He manufactures custom made picket fences and installs them within a fifty mile range of his premises. He had no desire to expand his range beyond that distance because going out on the road was already a time consuming chore and he only sold to about 25% of his leads.

One of his employees liked to make websites in his spare time and suggested he make a small website that featured a photograph album, some pictures of the manufacturing process and of the factory premises. There was nothing sophisticated about the site – it was like an online scrapbook album, but it worked brilliantly.

Once he was online, when people called Stan and asked him to come to their homes to show them his portfolio, he suggested they look at his website first. Those who saw his work and wanted fences of similar quality always called him back. The result for Stan was a large increase in the percentage of sales after his first visit. While he wasn’t making more sales, he was saving time and money.

Impressed with what the little website his employee made for him could do, Stan asked him what else they could do to make the site work even better. The employee suggested that they contact other local businesses who had websites and do link exchanges with them.

Stan made a few phone calls and it didn’t take long before a nearby home decor accents business nearby happily agreed to do a link exchange. To Stan’s surprise, within a short time he was getting quite a few more leads. Over the course of a few months, he saw his profits increase by ten percent, thanks to an inexpensive website and a single link exchange.

Then he got his big break. A home developer was just getting ready for a new property launch and agreed to do a link exchange with Stan. They had nearly completed a development of over a hundred homes. Everyone who went to their website saw Stan’s link and when they purchased their home, they remembered him and called him first when they wanted to fence in their house.

Thanks to an internet savvy employee and a small website, Stan’s business has doubled in size. That’s the power of the internet, even for the smallest business!
