Get Higher Rankings With These SEO Tips

For the Average person, SEO is something akin to black magic. As a Guaranteed Houston SEO, I believe part of this misunderstanding is because of all the snake oil flogged by self described SEO Guru’s. For some, this is because they do not have any idea what they’re talking about while others do it to keep their Clients in the dark about what they really do. SEO isn’t brain surgery people. It’s nothing more than systematically building and optimizing a website the same way over and over to achieve high rankings.

To start with, one should make sure that keywords are part of the URL if you can arrange it. When all things are equal, a web page with your keywords in the domain name will rank higher than a website without the keywords included in the URL.

Next up, the keyword or keyword phrase should be included in the Name of your Website. What this does is help the search engines figure out what subject your site is covering.

Keywords should also be placed in the Title of each article on your Website, or at least, some parts of a keyword phrase should be in the page Title. This has the same effect as putting keywords in the Title of your Website in that it helps the search engines come to a conclusion as to what the subject of the page is, what it’s about and how relevant it is to the search term being searched for. Also, the page Title should also be used in your H1 tag. Search engines give a great deal of value to the H1 tag and it’s important that your Page Title’s be inside H1 tags. If your Houston web designer does not know how to do this, fire them and find one that understands SEO.

Now that you have those three things out of the way, it’s critical that the keywords you want to rank for show up a few times in the content of the page. You should insert the keywords into the first paragraph somewhere and several more times througout the article depending on the length. It’s also important to put it near the end of the page or article. A few more times between the first and last paragraph won’t hurt, just be sure you work them at the first of the article and again at the end.

Lastly, probably the most important thing of SE Optimization actually takes place off your Website. In my opinion, the most important thing in obtaining a higher ranking is backlinks pointing to your page on your Website. And it’s not enough to just get backlinks, these backward links need to have your keywords as the Anchor text of the backlinks.

How important are links back to your site? Well, I can rank a website that doesn’t have the keywords in the domain, one that doesn’t have keywords in the Website Title, Page Title and in the Content (although it’s much, much harder to do), but without anchored backward links leading back to your site, {it is impossible} to rank a site in Google for any search phrases that are the least bit competitive.
