Christian Services: Service Or Using Others?

By Small Business Ideas On September 27, 2010 Under Small Business

I know a good Christian woman who cuts hair for a living. That’s her occupation. That’s how she makes a living. She is excellent at it. Why is it that when Christians come to her store they expect a “discount” simply because they go to the identical Church that she attends? There are some who seek advice from this follow as a “believer low cost”.

Now I am not opposed to finding reductions and offers, but not at another person’s expense. If somebody decides that they wish to give me a haircut at no cost, or half value, out of affection, then that’s fine. But to just count on that Christian companies are supposed to give reductions to all the “brothers and sisters” just isn’t love. It’s actually an indication of a poverty thoughts set. I’ll clarify that later.

For me to suppose that my Christian brothers and sisters are obligated to offer me a cheaper value is selfish and it takes money away from them. Suppose you couldn’t discover a Christian for the service or product you wanted? What would you do? You’ll end up paying somebody the value they charged.

I do know some Christians who are superb at doing automotive repairs and a few of them even do it as a business. And hardly a week or goes by that another Christian asks them for help in fixing their automobile, expecting to pay little or nothing for services rendered. That could be very egocentric and, once more, a sign of a poverty mentality.

Right here’s a startling thought: pay your Christian brother or sister more than they normally cost! Now that’s a concept that has love written all over it. Why would you do this? To start with it is certainly a blessing to have a Christian provide a service or a product. If they function their enterprise with integrity and love, that love will have an impact on my life. Secondly, by believing God’s promises of abundance you’ll be able to go over and beyond and provides extra to the person who is providing you the service or product. That increases their prosperity. However, if you have a poverty mentality, you are always in search of someone to cost you less for all the pieces and anticipating any Christian to give you a discount. Why not believe God’s guarantees of prosperity, receive His abundance, and then share that abundance with others?

Now I would moderately pay a Christian for a product or service, but there may be one other side to this coin. Just because I’m a Christian does that mean I’ve to seek out one other Christian to offer my services? Suppose I know a Christian who might get the job accomplished, but not with the quality I require? Am I obligated to rent a Christian anyway and then have inferior work finished? Some say that may be the “Christian thing to do.” I say, “No.”

If I rent you to repair my car I am expecting you to know what you are doing and to do it right the first time. If that doesn’t occur then I’ve wasted the cash God gave me to steward, to not point out the time that I’ve lost. Maybe the “Christian factor to do” would be to be sincere and tell somebody that their work shouldn’t be the quality that it might be. As a substitute of feeling obligated to rent them, why not give them some money in order that they can get the training they want so they can do quality work? Feeling sorry for someone after which having them do a job that they or another person might want to re-do it isn’t helping my brother or sister.

As a last thought, why shouldn’t Christian companies be the perfect businesses on the face of the earth? That takes a lot more than just having a Christian sounding name. It means high quality work. It means integrity and honesty. It means operating biblical ideas of giving more value. Having a Christian enterprise displays again on our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. As a matter of truth, whether we personal a business or are merely employed by somebody, the “Christian thing to do” is to work heartily, ethically, and honestly with the love of God. Our mild should so shine that everyone, Christians and non-Christians alike want our products and services.
